Flu Season
Once again flu season is among us. It is imperative for the health of the community and each individual's health that we make an attempt to receive our flu shots. Contact your primary care provider to discuss options for receiving the flu shot or contact your local pharmacies to get information on pricing and availability.
Signs and Symptoms
- Fever
- Body aches
- Tiredness
- Cough/Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Chills
Influenza (flu) is a virus and is very contagious. It is important to remember that even if you receive the flu shot it does not guarantee you will not get sick. It will minimize the impact and effects of the disease. This will allow you to recover quicker. If you notice that you are developing the signs and symptoms mentioned above make an appointment to see your primary care provider and they can put you on the right track to recovery. To reduce the risk of infection we ask that you practice good hand hygiene practices and wash your hands periodically with soap and water or hand sanitizer. We ask that you be mindful of others and cover your mouth when coughing and sneezing.
