Dr. Mario E. Ramirez Imaging Center


The Dr. Mario E. Ramirez Imaging Center is an excellent State of The Art Department of the Starr County Memorial Hospital (SCMH) and is the only Imaging Center of its kind in Starr County. The services available are MRI, CT Scans, Dexa, 2-D Echos, Doppler, and Ultrasound. When you arrive for any of these exams every detail from the very qualified personnel, the top of the line equipment, and the very new examining rooms are available. The ultimate goal in providing the services at this center is to assure the patients receive the highest level of customer service delivered with a sense of efficiency and friendliness. The physicians can expect outstanding images and the best in quality reporting from the Radiologists.

MAGNETIC RESOURCE IMAGING (MRI)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a type of imagin that uses magnetic
fields and radio waves to generate images of body. MRIs produce extrememly
detailed images of body tissue, organs, and bones without the need for radiation.

CT Scans
Computed Tomography commonly referred to as a CT Scan is a noninvasive
medical test that combines special x-ray equipment with sophisticated
computers to produce multiple images of the body.

Bone Denisity (DEXA)
Bone density scanning, is an advanced form of x-ray technology that is
used to measure by one loss. A Bone density scan is used to access
the strength of the bones, the possibility of fracture, or in
accessing risk of osteoporosis.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound scanning, is a method that obtains images of internal body
organs through the use of high frequency sound waves which are recorded
and displayed as images on a monitor.
