COOK - DIETARY
JOB SUMMARY: Prepares nutritional food for hospital patients, employees and visitors. Prepares meats, soups, sauces, etc. as determined by the day�s menu. Prepares all special hot food items for the modified diets as determined by the cycle menu. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment.
A. Education: Some High School education preferred.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Ability to read and write.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required.
1. Prior Work Experience: One year of previous institutional food preparation preferred.
2. Technical Training: None required.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of walking and standing. Some bending, stooping, and reaching for food items and equipment. Pushing and pulling of food carts and lifting up to 25 pounds. The ability to comprehend and follow written or verbal instructions and directions.
