Licensed Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiopulmonary Department

Job Summary:
Cardiac Sonographer perform echocardiograms, or ultrasound imaging, to evaluate different aspects of the heart, such as chamber size, valve function and blood flow. They review patient files and must be familiar with basic cardiac conditions in order to recognize and identify any abnormalities.
Uses equipment and department resources appropriately
A. Assists central scheduling with the accurate scheduling of patient appointments
B. Maintains equipment including cleaning and disinfecting according to department procedure
C. Identifies problems with equipment and notifies appropriate resources for diagnosis and repair and assists with evaluation of new equipment
Licensure: Registered Cardiac Sonographer /ARDMS or CCI
D. Experience:
1. Minimum of 2 years experience as a cardiac sonographer.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require moderate standing, walking, twisting, reaching, and handling of instruments and equipment. Occasional heavy lifting and supporting patients that may suddenly become weak or helpless.
