Patient Financial Counselor
Job Summary: The Patient Financial Counselor is responsible for assisting patients in understanding their
financial responsibilities. This role includes guiding patients in establishing
payment plans, processing patient payments, and verifying insurance coverage. Ensuring
accurate and timely postings to all patient accounts. The position also plays a key role in pre-
-admission processes and maintains current financial data for hospital departments.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/Certification:
•Associates degree is preferred but not required.
•Office specialist certificate is preferred
Job Related Skills:
•Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute.
•Proficient in using ten-key calculators and personal computers.
•Familiarity with general office procedures, billing, and financial policies.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
•Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
