Grant Writer/Project Manager
Title: Grant Writer/ Project Manager
Summary: Responsible for developing, writing, and managing grant-funded projects to secure state and government funding for clinical programs, research, and community health initiatives. Combines strong grant writing skills with project management to ensure funded activities are implemented, monitored, and reported on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research funding opportunities (federal, state, foundation, corporate, local) aligned with hospital strategic priorities.
• Develop and write competitive grant proposals, letters of intent, budgets, and supporting documents.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders (clinical leaders, researchers, finance, compliance, development, operations) to collect content, data, and approvals.
• Prepare project plans, timelines, work breakdown structures, and resource allocations for funded projects.
• Serve as primary project manager for awarded grants: track milestones, manage budgets and expenditures, oversee subcontractors, and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
• Monitor regulatory and compliance requirements (HIPAA and contract terms) and implement processes to maintain compliance.
• Produce progress reports, financial reports, and final reports for funders; prepare metrics and outcomes for internal leadership and board reporting.
• Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, submission quality control, and proposal archival.
• Build and maintain relationships with funders and community partners; participate in meetings and site visits as needed.
• Train and advise staff on grant writing best practices, reporting requirements, and budget management.
• Contribute to departmental strategy, forecasting, and continuous improvement of grant processes and templates.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Business, Communications, or related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years combined experience in grant writing, project management, and/or research administration; hospital or healthcare experience strongly preferred.
• Proven track record securing grants (local/state/federal/foundation) and managing award-funded projects.
• Experience preparing budgets, financial reporting, and use of grants accounting systems.
Skills and Competencies:
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; strong proposal development skills.
• Solid project management skills: planning, scheduling, risk management, and progress tracking.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with grant management systems preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.

EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree required; Master's degreee in Public Health, Health Administration, Business, Communications, or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 3-5+ years combined experience in grant writing, project management, and/or research administration; hospital or healthcare experience strongly preferred.
Proven track record securing grants (local/state/federal/foundation) and managing awardfunded projects.
Experience preparing budgets, financial reporting, and use of grants accounting systems.
