Nursing Care

Starr County Memorial Hospital provides nursing care for inpatients admissions, observations stays, and outpatient treatments with nursing care provided by well experienced and highly educated Registered Nurses. We provide inpatient medical and telemetry care for patients with many different acute conditions that require hospitalization. Our nurses are required to have a current CPR certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification. We provide continuing education for nurses to keep up to date with all new updates and changes in healthcare. Our nurses strive to provide compassionate and professional care. As a team, the nurses work cohesively with Physicians, Registered nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Certified Nurse's Aides, and Ward clerks to provide and carry out the most appropriate patient plan of care. The nursing department strives in multidisciplinary system rounding to ensure that all of the patient needs are met. Our multidisciplinary team includes the physician, nurse, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, respiratory therapist, dietician, and social worker. This team approach allows for a more comprehensive and thorough patient assessment and clear plan of care.
