Surgical Services

Starr County Memorial Hospital (SCMH) is proud to offer 24-hour, 7-days-a-week surgical coverage to the community.

General Surgical Services: We continue our strong partnership with surgeons from the Renaissance Specialty Clinic, who provide coverage three days a week for a wide range of procedures, including:
Mastectomies
Appendectomies
Cholecystectomies (Gallbladder removal)
Hernia repair (Umbilical, Inguinal, Abdominal)
Mass and tumor removals

Advanced Laparoscopic Procedures: Our state-of-the-art Surgical Department utilizes laparoscopic surgery (minimally invasive) to operate on numerous organs, such as the colon, small intestine, stomach, appendix, gallbladder, liver, and pancreas.

Obstetrical and Reproductive Services: We also provide surgical coverage for obstetrical needs, including Cesarean sections and tubal ligations (sterilization).

Pediatric Dental Surgical Team: Dr. Stephen Siedow, specializing in Pediatric Dental Surgery. The Dental Surgeon will provide specialized surgical coverage for our pediatric population twice a month.

Podiatry Surgery: SCMH is thrilled to welcome our newest surgical team member Dr. Samuel Enyew a board qualified Foot and Ankle surgeon by the American Board of Foot and Ankle surgery.

Your Surgical Journey: The SCMH surgical team is dedicated to supporting our patients throughout the entire surgical process, from pre-operative preparation to post-operative recovery. We are committed to taking the time necessary to answer all questions from you and your family regarding your procedure and what to expect during and after surgery.
